5.
I notice some flour escaping from the side of my canister, is there a problem?
The mill may sometimes leak a small amount of flour when milling on the ‘fine’ setting    (10:00 – 11:00 O’clock) (lots of air and little flour blowing into the bowl).  Please try    milling a canister of flour at a 12:00 – 2:00 ’clock setting to see if it makes a    difference. Remember to empty the Separator Cup and clean the Filter after each use.    Also, ‘dust off’ the square white rubber grommet on the canister lid with a pastry    brush to make sure the crevices are not full of flour.

  • Check to make sure the little black rubber nub in the wall of the stand has not come loose. If you can lift the edge of it with your finger the flour canister may not be able to seat properly. Put a drop of super glue under the edge of it to re fasten it.
  • Empty the separator cup after each canister full of flour, and flip the filter to clean it? When the separator cup starts to get full it can allow the air pressure to push the filter up and dislodge it.
  • Check that the large black gasket that is on the flour canister lid has not come loose from the lid? If it has air can leak between the gasket and lid and flour will blow out. Tack the gasket down with super glue.Tack down the gasket with super glue.
  • Check the inlet grommet in the bowl lid.  Has it been worn by flour abrasion?  This can be replaced.  Call or email service@kitchenresource.com

7. Can I grind brown rice in my Nutrimill?
Brown rice seems to be an exception to all the rules when it comes to how quickly it     feeds from the hopper to the milling heads. While wheat has a ‘slippery’ surface,     brown rice does not. It tends to cling together and feeds slowly. The flow-control     valve and the Inlet Cover regulate the flow of grain into the milling heads.
As the ‘finer – coarser’ knob is turned to the right – clockwise – the grain flows into     the milling heads much more quickly, with coarser textured flour. When the dial is at     9:00 – 11:00 O’ clock, very little grain flows into the milling heads and the resulting     flour is finer, but it takes a lot longer to mill. With a little experimenting you’ll find a     setting where the grain feeds quickly and with a suitable texture.  For bread flour,     you should mill a full hopper of wheat in 5 to 7 minutes.
Also, occasionally ‘polish’ the grain hopper so the surface is clean and slippery.

8. How much grain can I mill at one time?
One hopper full (level, with expanding ring) of wheat (about 13 cups) will fill the flour bowl.      Do not overfill the bowl. One full bowl of flour will make a large batch of dough in the Bosch     mixer.
Oats and other soft grains will fluff up larger when milled,  so only fill the hopper about 2/3     full of these grains so the bowl does not overfill.
